What is the Computer Technician Training?

Embark on a comprehensive journey into the dynamic world of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with our all-encompassing Computer Technician Training course. This program provides a holistic understanding of essential IT components, such as mobile devices, networking, hardware, virtualization, cloud computing, troubleshooting, operating systems, software troubleshooting, security, and operational procedures.

Who can participate?

This course is meant for clients who can demonstrate a fundamental computer proficiency. This includes how to navigate the web, create and download documents, use the Zoom video conferencing app, and successfully navigate around their computers. Clients who have taken the Computer Fundamentals course are also eligible to register for the program. Each participant will be required to schedule a 20 minute orientation with the program facilitator prior to the start of classes.

 

 

What is the course schedule?

Classes begin February 5th 2024 and will continue until July 29, 2024. Classes will be held every Monday from 2 - 4 pm and one other day during the week, to be decided.

 

 

How will the course be presented?

The classes will be virtual, presented using the Zoom video conferencing app which can be downloaded for free at https://www.zoom.us.

 

 

What will happen during each class?

 

During each class, participants will be introduced to the course content through powerpoint presentations, lectures, videos, group activities and assessments. Participants will also be encouraged to participate actively in their learning through discussions, group work, problem-solving, and independent projects.

 

All participants MUST turn on their webcams for checkins and group activities. Clients are strongly encouraged to turn on their webcams for the entirety of each class.
